Mangalore, Feb 28: ‘Konkani Janapad Utsav–2009’, will be held on Sunday March 1 and Monday March 2 at Vidhyaranga Vedike, Kharvikeri, Kundapur. It will be jointly organized by the Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy and Kundapur Vidhyaranga Mitra Mandali.
Kundapur MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty will inaugurate the programme at 5.30 pm on Sunday.
All Karnataka Konkani Kharvi Mahajan Sangh president Narayan Devappa Kharvi will be the chief guest on the occasion.
Academy president Kundapur Narayan Kharvi will preside over the inaugural and closing programmes.
MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary and Karnataka Theological Research Institute Professor Dr A V Navada will be the chief guests at the closing ceremony to be held at 5.30 pm on Monday.
Around 28 Janapad troupes are likely to partake in the Utsav, stated the press release issued by the Konkani Academy here.
