Kundapur: Murderous Assault - Five in Hospital

Kundapur, Feb 28: Relating to a land dispute, five persons including four women became victims of a deadly attack launched on them by some people with the help of lethal weapons on Friday February 27. Out of the five, one is in critical condition and has been admitted into a hospital in Mangalore.

Nagu Jatta Naik (60), Kuppu Devadiga (47), Sooru N Devadiga (45), Abbakka M Devadiga (65) and Chandra (35), who had gone to a cashew plantation located by the side of Bijoor  Makki temple near Byndoor, were unexpectedly attacked and  indiscriminately hit by a gang of seven persons who were armed with swords and clubs, it is learnt.

The injured said they had gone to the plantation to collect dry leaves. On a complaint filed by them, Byndoor policemen have registered a case against Uday, said to be a central government employee and six of his accomplices.
