Puttur: Forest Department to Conduct 'Bidiru Siri' Workshop on Mar 3

Puttur, Mar 1: A workshop 'Bidiru Siri', organized by Mangalore Forest Department will be held at Okkaliga Gowda Community Hall, Puttur on Tuesday March 3.

Krishna J Palemar, district-in-charge minister, will inaugurate the workshop under the presidentship of MLA Mallika Prasad.

The workshop will help disseminate the knowledge about use of bamboo in the preparation of household articles. Its purpose is to teach the common people to prepare articles out of it and start a small scale industry which will make them independent.

D V Sadanand Gowda, member of parliament, K P Sucharita Shetty, president, zilla panchayat, B Shivana Gowda, chief conservator of forest, T V Mohandas, S Nagaraj, principal chief conservator of forests, and Dr K Sundar Naik will participate in the workshop.

“The department requests that a large number of people make use of the opportunity to participate in the workshop”, said Vijay Kumar, Mangalore sub-division forest conservator.
