Mangalore: Two Youth Drown in River Netravati near Adyar

Mangalore, Mar 4: Ritesh Francis D'Souza (19) and Roshan Ullas Noronha (21), both residents of Adyar Padavukatte, who ventured into Netravati river for fishing and also to take bath drowned in the river waters Sunday March 1.

The two were neighbourers and close friends.  It is now learnt that they had gone to Adyar together on Sunday evening.  When they were taking bath, they perhaps, got caught in the undercurrent whirlpool and were snatched into the water.  It was not known then that the two had gone together. Their families were searching for them.

On Monday March 2 night, the body of Roshan Ullas was found near Innoli, on the opposite bank of the river. Konaje policemen had registered a case after his body was found there. The body of Ritesh was found on Tuesday at Adyar. City Rural police have registered a case.

Only after the body of Ritesh was found, did it transpire that the two had gone to the river together. It appears, the friends continued to be so till their last breath.

    My deepest condelence to the parents of both boys. I know personally since I came accross with the same incident in my life when my son and his friend drowned in Nayerkere Udupi.God alone can give patience, to bear the loss of sudden demise. I pray,May their sould rest in peace.

    Heartiest condolences to the families of both young men - may their souls rest in peace. Parents, please make it a strict discipline to your children that they inform you of their whereabouts so that you know where they are at any given minute. We can't bring back the dead but can warn them on their safety or rush to the place when something is wrong.
