B'lore: Over 15 MLAs to Knock at LS Door - Cause Additional Burden on Exchequer

Bangalore, Mar 4: If the present trend is any indication, over 15 MLAs in the current legislative assembly will try to get entry into the Loksabha soon. Legislators from all the three major political parties in the state, Congress, BJP and the JD (S) will be making an attempt to enter the national politics through the Loksabha election. If they get elected, the Election Commission will have to conduct elections afresh for the vacant MLA seats and spend heavily towards by elections.

Opposition leader in the state assembly Mallikarjun Kharge, deputy leader T B Jayachandra, ex-minister Roshan Baig, MLA Krishna Bhaire Gowda, V Muniyappa, Dr Sudhakar, Satish Jarkiholi and Prakash Rathod are the legislators from the Congress, who are likely to be fielded for the Loksabha seats. From the BJP, ministers Revunayak Belamagi and Sriramulu besides MLA Dr Ashwathnarayan will most likely be fielded by the party. The BJP will also be fielding Gurupadappa Nagamarapalli, who resigned as the Congress MLA recently, from Bidar constituency. The party also plans to make Channapatna Congress MLA C P Yogeshwar, as its candidate from Bangalore rural constituency after admitting him into the party fold.

From the JD (S), ex-chief minister H D Kumaraswami has started campaigning in Bangalore rural constituency, and he is a sure candidate from the party from this seat.
