Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Apr 8: It came to light on Tuesday April 7 that Satish (23) from Indiranagar in Varambally village, Brahmavar in the taluk, had bludgeoned his uncle (45) in an intoxicated state. The Brahmavar policemen arrested Satish on Tuesday.

It is said, Satish was consuming liquor at the home of his friend Chandra on Sunday April 5, in the company of his uncle Aita. Aita's wife Geeta, noticing that her ten-year-old daughter was present among the drinking men, came there to take the girl home. On this issue, a quarrel broke out between Geeta and Satish, culminating in Satish hitting Geeta. Angered Aita slapped Satish and in retaliation, Satish hit his uncle with a cudgel.

Instead of carrying seriously injured Aita to hospital, Satish abandoned his uncle there and went away. On the next day too, no one took the injured man to the hospital and he succumbed to injuries. The incident came to light when Narayan, a neighbourer of Aita, visited Aita's home.

A case has been registered in Brahmavar police station in this connection.
