Nikhil G P, Sharath Gowda, and Avinash had left Hassan on May 9 for undertaking trekking. At around 4.25 am on Friday, the three motor bikes were moving through the tollgate at Suratkal when Sharath, who was ahead of the two, did not notice humps on the highway near Suratkal tollgate. He lost control over the bike. The motor bike then hit the left side protective wall at the tollgate, during which Sharath suffered serious injuries to his head. He was immediately taken to Srinivas Hospital at Mukka but he breathed his last before reaching the hospital, it is said.

There is information that the motor bike rider could not notice the presence of humps near the tollgate as there are no street lights near the tollgate.

The mortal remains were handed over to Sharath's family. Sharath was running a business at Hassan, it is said. A case about the accident was registered in the traffic police station at Suratkal.

All the bumps in India should be painted by reflective paint and reflective signage show be visible at all bumps. When is the government going to consider safety as priority. This is a murder caused by negligence of road safety.

    RIP Sharath Gowda.
