Udupi, Apr 11: "A community can prosper and develop, only if it follows in the footsteps of refinement handed over since ages," opined Kashi Math spiritual head Sri Sudhindrateertha Swamiji. He was delivering the benedictory speech at the religious programme organized as part of the re-consecration of Sri Veera Vithal temple in Udyavar on Thursday April 9.

"A refined society is set to be affluent. Attributes like devotion, love, affection, empathy etc automatically contribute to the enhancement of the sacredness of homes and religious centres. It is the duty of the parents to imbibe discipline, restraint, politeness etc., to their children to ensure that the next generation values these qualities," he noted, adding that temples always signify progress of the places in which they are located.

On the occasion, the Swamiji also dedicated the newly-made silver 'Lalaki' to Lord Veera Vithal of the temple.

Temple managing trustee M Nagesh Kamat, priest Satish Acharya and others were present. Chempi Srikant Bhat delivered introductory address. Vidyavant Acharya presented the programme.
