People had developed a curiosity and enthusiasm about the car even before it came to the town. The driving away of the Tatas from Singur near Kolkata, Karnataka losing the project Gujarat etc., had made headlines. The people are surprised that the car could be brought out by the company within such a short time.

The middle class people, who hope to acquire a car that suits their budget, have come and seen the Nano. Many expressed their happiness about the conveniences being offered by the car at such a reasonable rate. The Nano is priced at Rs 95,000, Nano-CX model costs Rs 1.2 lac while Nano-LX is tagged at around Rs 1.4 lac. These prices are exclusive of road tax, insurance etc.

Car looks good, but do Indian roads look good? The success of Nano depends on the road conditions and drivers following the traffic rules sincerely. Otherwise, it will be like "Dil Gaadi pe and Jaan Hateli pe". One satisfaction is that in most of the Indian metropol cities you can't drive at more than 40 - 45 kms and it sounds pretty safe. Anyway, good luck to users.

the amount quoted in the write-up is for booking against each model and NOT the price quoted by the company. For BSII it is 1,27,927/- CX II it is 1,52,956/- and for LXIII it is 1,83,229/- all ex-factory for delivery at UDUPI.The amount varies for delivery at the place of delivery/State. The emission is less than that of a two wheeler and it is Euro/Bharat II/III emission compliant. The engine is only 2 cylinder which, for a four wheeler is unique, and can also take care of the A.C. The Indian technology is a marvel and TATAs have also sought help from international auto makers as reported bysome experts. No wonder it has been keenly watched by people all over the world.
