Mangalore: DYFI to Work for Third Front Candidates

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Apr 11: Addressing a press conference convened here on Friday April 10, Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) state president N L Bharat Raj said that the DYFI would be supporting and working for the victory of the candidates put up by the Third Front, in tune with a decision on the issue taken recently.

He said the country needs to be brought out from the clutches of the politics of hate pursued by the BJP and the anti-poor programmes of the Congress Party. He blamed the Congress Party of getting elected by promising to create employment opportunities, but instead causing the loss of several crore jobs during its five-year tenure. The Congress had promised to improve the income levels of the people but the poorest of the poor continue to toil, with about 77% of people finding themselves below poverty line, he charged.  Bharat further accused the Congress Party of snatching away agricultural lands for setting up Special Economic Zones instead of providing fillip to agricultural activities.

State secretary of DYFI B Rajashekhar Murthy blamed both the Congress and the BJP of spreading insecurity among the people. "Congress Party calls itself secular but miserably failed to fight against communal forces. Its policies have driven people to streets and because of the commercialization of education, poor children are deprived of education,” he said and branded both these parties of being the agents of United States of America.
