Mangalore, Apr 13: Thieves entered an apartment in Kankanady and made good their escape after stealing gold ornaments worth about Rs 4.36 lac.
In a complaint filed with the policemen, the family guessed that the thieves had entered their home in Gulshan Apartment, Kankanady belonging to Samir, by breaking open its rear door between 4.30 pm on Friday and 4.30 pm on Saturday April 11. The thieves who entered the bed room of the flat, opened the steel almirah located there, and used the keys found there to open the locker. The complaint puts the quantity of gold ornaments stolen, at 54.5 sovereigns.
Reportedly, no one was in the apartment when the theft occurred. Kadri police have registered a case and investigations are on.
