Udupi: ‘Rajamaja’ Summer Camp to be held from Apr 15

Udupi, Apr 13: The ‘Rajamaja’ summer camp will be held at Mathura Hall of Shiroor Mutt, Udupi from Wednesday April 15 to Sunday May 10.

The camp is being jointly organized by Amateur Rangabhoomi organization, department of public instruction, Paryaya Puttige Math and Shiroor Math.

The camp is being organized for the children in the age group of seven to 15 years, said K Anand Ganiga, camp organizer, speaking at a press conference here on Sunday April 12.

The camp provides an opportunity for about 150 students including 100 students from the department of public instruction to participate in the camp. The registration fee for each of the students will be Rs 500, he said.

The camp will also provide food for all the participants of the camp.

Prasanna Kumar, Udupi zilla panchayat’s chief executive officer, will inaugurate the camp on Wednesday April 15 at 4.30 pm.

Sri Lakshmivarateertha Swamiji of Shiroor Math will preside over the function, while Paryaya Puttige swamiji will deliver the benedictory speech on the occasion.

Anand, public instruction department deputy director, Manjunataiah, block education officer and N Shiva Prakash, Sarva Shikshana Abhiyan deputy project officer will participate as the chief guests of the programme.

The camp is being conducted under the direction of Nataraj Tiptoor and under the guidance of renowned artiste Mandya Ramesh.  Various famous artistes and theatre scholars will conduct demonstrations and interactive sessions on different topics every day.

Talloor Shivarama Shetty and U Upendra, Rangabhoomi vice-president, P Vasudev Rao, general secretary, Manjunataiah, block education officer and Pratapchandra were present at the press conference.
