Mangalore: Murder Attempt on Hotel Owner

Mangalore, Apr 17: Taranath Shenoy, owner of a hotel near the Central Market here, has been admitted into a private hospital here with serious injuries. His son Vinayak Shenoy has filed a complaint with the policemen, alleging that the injury was the result of a murder attempt on him.

It is alleged that Rattu alias Ratnakar (45) from Boloor village, a drunkard, had pestered Shenoy for a loan, but Shenoy had refused to oblige. Ratnakar, who came to the hotel at around 10.30 pm on Wednesday April 15, hit Shenoy's head with a sickle, injuring him badly.

It is learnt, Ratnakar is already facing several cases registered against him several years ago.
