Puttur, Jul 23: Municipal commissioner here, Roopa Shetty, along with other officials, raided five paying guest (PG) accommodations in the city and verified their functioning on Monday July 22.

During the visit to five such accommodations, she found that three among them had not yet renewed their licences and the other two were operating without obtaining any licence. Out of over 50 PGs located around the college area, only seven have obtained licences so far, and the others are unauthorized.

The municipal commissioner instructed health department officials to collect details about these PGs and to probe their functioning.
