Mangaluru: Awareness on Mosquito-borne diseases conducted by CODP for staff

Mangaluru, Jul 23: Awareness on Mosquito-borne diseases, especially in view of large numbers of people infected with Dengue, was recently organized by CODP for its staff and representatives of Jeevan Raksha Okkoota at CODP.

Fr Oswald Monteiro, director of CODP, welcomed the gathering and explained the purpose of the awareness programme.

Suresh Shetty from Parisara Okkoota, being the resource person, delivered a talk about the prevalence of Dengue in Mangaluru and the role of citizens in curbing the menace. He also explained about the preventive measures the citizens should take at their place of work and residence. Stagnant water is the main cause for breeding of Dengue mosquitoes, he said.



CODP has extended its hand in creating awareness on the above mentioned issue and has informed all its self-help groups to begin mosquito breeding destruction drive around their surroundings and to also spread awareness to their neighboring houses.

Lenet Gonsalves, programme manager of CODP proposed the vote of thanks.
