Mangaluru: ICYM Neermarga organise ‘YuvaVaat’

Mangaluru, Jul 24: ‘YuvaVaat’ 2019, with the theme “And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know” (John 14-4) was organised by ICYM Neermarga on July 21. The event was coordinated by Jesus Youth Karnataka Parish Ministry under the vibrant leadership of Rev Fr Anil D Mello, Parish Priest for young people in the age group of 16 to 30 years. 105 participants from 16 wards of the parish participated in the event.

The event commenced with a prayer song and was inaugurated in a unique way by the dignitaries. The stage programme was presided by Rev Fr Anil D Mello. Pawan Pinto, president of ICYM, Prakash Pereira, vice president Parish Pastoral council, Sunil Pereira, ICYM animator, Victor, Jesus Youth Karnataka Parish Ministry-coordinator, MelwynSaldanha, secretary of Jesus Youth Karnataka Parish Ministry, Brother Ivan, Kevin Vaz, secretary ICYM were also present. Rev Fr Anil in his presidential address to the youth, explicated through life situations the meaning of knowing the way, going the way and showing the way. It was indeed a thought provoking message deeply appreciated by the youth. Melvita Vaz compeered the programme.



Jyothi and team conducted the ice breaker session followed by innovative games and activities. The program was facilitated by Rony D Souza, Anil D Souza and Victor. The topics dealt in the program included, 'Steps involved in walking in footsteps of Christ and youth leadership in the Bible' by Rony D Souza, 'Secrets to real happiness and different ways youth could sow and reap spirituality' by Anil D Souza, 'Healing takes place when we cling on to God and family and stress management' by Victor.

Series of group discussions led the youth to understand the need to be lifelong learners, leaders and disciples of Christ. The music ministry and the worship were led by Brother Melvyn and team. Brother Ivan enlightened the youth about the importance of confession in our life. The confession started soon after.

Holy Mass was then celebrated for the youth by Rev Fr Joel and Rev Fr Gerald Lobo. At 5.30 pm, Taize prayer was organized for the parish youth and elders. The place was well arranged by the youth for prayer. The silent ambience created an atmosphere of serene prayer and meditation. The singing and the setting brought heavenly experience for all the participants. The youth returned home with an inspiring message of living a life for Christ through faith and charity.
