Madikeri: Man trying to sell country made pistol arrested

Madikeri, Jul 27: Police personnel of Shanivarasanthe station in the district arrested a person when trying to sell a country made pistol in Kodlipet area of the district.

The arrested accused happens to be Sumith Choudhary from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

The police circle inspector of Shanivarasanthe police station was on patrol duty on July 23 when he got information that a person was trying to sell a country made pistol. The police team, acting on this information, arrested Choudhary and recovered a country made pistol and a live bullet from his possession.

District superintendent of police, Dr Suman D Pannekar, said that Sumith worked as sand worker in Kodlipet and that he had come to the district sometime back. She added that on the basis of information gathered from him, the police will visit Uttar Pradesh and conduct investigation there.
