Bantwal, Jul 27: On Friday July 26, normal rainfall along with sunny climate in between was experienced in the taluk. A person died in a rain-related accident whereas some houses were damaged due to landslides.
Deranna Poojary from Manjalahithlu in Ananthadi village in the taluk accidentally slipped and fell into a drain. He lost his life on the spot. Sources in the taluk level natural disaster monitoring centre said that necessary measures would be taken to disburse compensation after getting final reports from the health and police departments.
The house of Monappa from Beedisalu in Manchi village crashed to the ground due to heavy rain on Thursday night. A house of Jayanti in Alake Majalu in Idkidu village partly collapsed. House of Ibrahim in B Casba village too was partially damaged.
