Koppal: Grandparents save children from electrocution, lose own lives

Koppal, Jul 27: During the period two children living in a house in Raghavendra Colony at Gangavathi in the district suffered from electric shocks, their grandparents came forward, took the risk of saving the children, but lost their own lives in the bargain.

The deceased grandparents happened to be Anandappa (62) and his wife, Hanumanthavva (54).

Two grandchildren of the couple were suffering from electric shocks which flowed through an electric cable that had severed. The couple who saw the children struggling for life, somehow separated the children from the wires and saved them. However, they themselves were electrocuted in the bargain.
