Pak man blackmails employer's family with private photos, video clips

Dubai, Aug 28: Dubai court of the first instance heard arguments from prosecution over a blackmail case that was registered against a 32-year-old Pakistani man on February 26 for threatening his employer's wife.

The accused allegedly threatened to disgrace his Emirati employer's wife by saying he would circulate her sons' nude photos and videos on social media. He even sent her the photos and video clips on WhatsApp. The complaint was lodged against him at Al Barsha police station and he has been placed in detention ever since.

The Emirati housewife told the prosecution investigators that she was at her villa around 5:30 pm when she received several video clips on WhatsApp. "The videos were of my sons. They are very private and inappropriate, she said. The sender then sent her threatening messages, one of which read: "I have some video clips for you. Communicate with me or I will send them to your husband and post them on Youtube, Instagram, and Twitter."

The housewife called her husband and informed him about the incident and he in-turn lodged a police complaint. The accused during the investigation admitted he threatened the housewife with several videos on WhatsApp and he got them from a family member's mobile phone. He claimed he was not happy with the way he was treated while he worked at the villa and that his threats were meant as a payback to the housewife.

The accused will be sentenced on September 18.
