Ajit Pawar sacked as NCP Legislature Party leader

Mumbai, Nov 23 (IANS): In drastic action, the Nationalist Congress Party on Saturday evening sacked rebel legislator Ajit Pawar as NCP Legislature Party chief and replaced him with its state President Jayant Patil.

A NCP meeting in which NCP President Sharad Pawar, top leaders and legislators were present, also resolved that all powers of Ajit Pawar to issue a whip and function as the NCP Legislature Party chief have been withdrawn with immediate effect.

In his place, Jayant Patil will be the new NCP Legislature Party leader and take all other decisions pertaining in the matter.

The developments came barely 12 hours after Ajit Pawar abruptly joined hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party leader Devendra Fadnavis, which resulted in political mayhem in the state.

While Ajit Pawar was sworn-in as Deputy Chief Minister, Fadnavis returned as the Chief Minister.

The stage in Maharastra is similar to the Karnataka post 2018 elections. The day is not far when the Govt., of Cong-Shiv Sena-NCP will collapse once its formed. Combined three political parties cannot face the financial mite of the BJP. The power mongering politicians will start flexing their muscles and harm the smooth functioning of the Govt., Blame game will start with the MLAs migrating to Karnataka under Yediyurappa and defecting. Unless the SC act firmly without waiting for strengthening of Schedule 10 of the constitution the political scenario will worsen in the country because of the unethical politics of the BJP. The Judiciary should also lift the constitutional veil (like the corporate veil in Companies Act) to know if the lifting of Presidents rule in the wee hours of the day was in the interest of protecting the constitution or favouring the BJP by subverting the constitution of India.
