Mumbai, Apr 20: A high-level inquiry on the lynching of three men in a Palghar village was demanded by Devendra Fadnavis, the former chief minister on Sunday.

The incident had taken place on Thursday night, while the videos of the lynching went viral on Sunday. The three victims, which included a 70-year-old pandit, were allegedly beaten to death by a mob consisting of over 500 tribals in the Gadchinchale village in Kasa taluk of Palghar district. The video further showed six unarmed cops failing to protect the victims. The victims were seen urging the policemen to save them, and the tribals were shown grabbing these men and lynching them. Around 100 men have been arrested so far.

The chief minister Uddhav Thackeray assured that none of those guilty will be spared. He added that all those who had attacked the two sadhus, the driver and the police personnel had been arrested on Thursday.
