Sullia: Woman ends life by consuming poison

Sullia, Apr 23: In an incident which happened at Balugodu in the taluk on Tuesday night, April 21, a young woman committed suicide at her home. The victim was Vinutha (20) from Uppukala in Balugodu in the taluk.

Vinutha was undergoing third-year nursing training at Wenlock Hospital Mangaluru. She had come home to spend holidays on account of lockdown. On Monday night, she consumed rat poison and became sick soon after. Her family members rushed her to KVG Hospital at Sullia and then to a hospital in Mangaluru for advanced treatment.

She did not respond to treatments and breathed her last on Tuesday. Relating to the incident, a case of unnatural death was registered in Subrahmanya police station.
