Sullia, Apr 25: A person who had consumed some intoxicating substance, beat up his aged mother and two young children. All the three were admitted into the government hospital here on Friday April 24.

Umesh, a resident of Guligapade near Goonadka Baile in Sampaje village, mercilessly beat up his 84-year-old mother and two young children. He threatened them to vacate his home at once.

It is said that Umesh has been in the habit of creating a scene at his home regularly, and his wife, who was fed up, left to her parental home at Delampady a month back. Umesh, it is said, refused to allow her to take away the kids then. It is said that after his wife left home, he has been attacking his mother and children frequently.

The three persons, who felt threatened and were fearful of Umesh, had stayed on the night of April 23 atop a nearby hillock. In the morning, they went back home, but again faced anger of Umesh. Therefore, they went to Sampaje police outpost, filed a complaint against Umesh, and got admitted into the government hospital at Sullia.
