Raichur: ‘Ambulance treatment’ - New method of punishing lockdown violators

Daijiworld Media Network - Raichur (MS)

Raichur, Apr 25: There was a video making rounds on social media of police keeping fake coronavirus patient in the ambulance and scaring people who violated lockdown rules. The police of the city also tried something similar to that by asking the lockdown violators to sit in the ambulance.

Some relaxation in lockdown rules is given in Raichur, which is under green zone now. Some people are taking advantage of this. While some were going triple-ride on bike, others were roaming on the streets unnecessarily. The police caught such offenders and put them in the ambulance near Chandramouleshwara Circle and Mahatma Gandhi Circle.

In the ambulance a police personnel itself acts as if he is infected with coronavirus in order to scare the violators. In addition, police are filing cases on such people and making them sit in the police station for the whole day. SP DR C B Vedamurthy has defended the step taken by the police in order to maintain social distance.

this country only believes in punishment and not counselling. Pity. As if fear of punishment will prevent people from coming out. Relax the lockdown and things will be better - it has gone on long enough with dubious benefit.
