Madikeri, May 2: After the charge of rape of minor levelled against a person was found proved, a court here awarded 20 years of jail term and imposed fine of Rs 96,000 on him.
C D Nithin, a resident of a village near Mananthavady, Kerala, had visited the residence of his wife's parents at Puliyeri village in Kodagu district on March 12, 2019. On that occasion, he was accused of raping a minor girl. In this respect, a police complaint had been filed in Siddapur police station.
The then police circle inspector, Nage Gowda, had undertaken investigation and filed charge sheet in the court. Judge of the court, B G Rama, who conducted hearing in the case, observed that the charges were proved, and announced the quantum of sentence as above.
