Mangalore: MECT Organizes Annual Sports Meet at Mangala Stadium

Mangalore, Jan 28: The annual sports meet – 2010 of Masood College of Nursing and Masood School of Nursing, functioning under the city-based Masood Educational and Charitable Trust ® (MECT), was organized on Thursday January 28, at the Mangala Stadium here.



The inaugural ceremony of the meet was held at 9.30 am. City commissioner, Gopal B Hosur, participated as the chief guest. Al Haj K S Mohammed Masood, former MLC and ex-chairman of Karnataka State Minorities Commission, and the founder of  METC, presided. President, Dr Richard James D’Souza, secretary, Dr Mohammed Arif Masood, treasurer, Abid Jalihal, trustee, Mohammed Asif Masood, principal, Veena Gretto Tauro and Sushma Danny, sports in-charge, participated.

Numersous competitions were held for the students of the institutions. The students actively participated in the events with a sense of competition and sportsmanship spirit.

About the Trust: The Trust, which was founded in the year 2003-04 by K S Mohammed Masood, has been running basic BSc, general nursing and midwifery courses. The institutions run by the Trust have come to be known for discipline, facilities, quality of education and extending help to the needy. The institutions are affiliated to Rajiv- Gandhi University of Health Sciences and recognized by INC.
