Mangalore: Vilas Charitable Trust Organizes Eye Camp

Mangalore, Feb 3: The Association for the Blind, Dakshina Kannada, in association with Vilas Charitable Trust, Mangalore, conducted an eye camp at Kallarakodi Government School, Bantwal, on Sunday January 31.

Ophthalmic surgeons Dr Jayaram Shetty, Dr Hrishikesh Amin, and Dr Nelli Nazareth examined the patients.
In all, 160 patients were examined; 102 patients were given free spectacles, 31 patients were given free medicines and 21 were identified for free cataract removal at Fr Muller’s Charitable Hospital, Kankanady, and Justice K S Hegde Hospital, Deralakatte.

Sumathi Pangal, secretary, Association for the Blind, spoke on the occasion.

Gururaj Rao, president, Association for the Blind, J D Shetty, president, Vilas Charitable Trust, and Vilas J Shetty, secretary, Vilas Charitable Trust, were present on the occasion.
