Mangalore, Feb 14: Milagres Church is celebrating its centenary year and as part of the celebration various social service activities and development programmes have been planned.
As part of such activities, the foundation stone was laid for a housing project near Bondel here on Sunday February 14 to mark the centenary celebrations of the Milagres church.
The foundation stone was blessed by monsignor Fr Dennis Moras Prabhu, vicar of Mangalore diocesan. The ceremony held with blessings and worshipful prayers.
Jubilee Committee convener Marcel Montero welcomed the gathering and Deacon Ivan compered the programme.
The housing project is sponsored by Leslie J Fernandes in memory of late Cynthia Fernandes.
Fr Walter D Mello, vicar of Milagres church and Marcel Montiero, president of Milagres centenary committee among others were present.
