Mangalore, Mar 6 (DHNS): The much awaited 18-hole golf course at Thannirbhavi and Aquamarine park project is nearing the bidding stage, said KSIIDC Chairman Yogish Bhat.

Speaking at an interaction programme organised by the DK district Working Journalists Association at Patrika Bhavana here on Saturday, he said the bidding for the 18-hole golf course will be invited within four months. About 135 acre land has already been acquired and handed over to the tourism department by the revenue department. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 106 crore.

“We have taken all measures to obtain CRZ approval from the State government. The initial studies have been completed. Once the name of the bidder is finalised, then he has to take CRZ clearance from the Central government along with detailed report of the project.”

The 135 acre land will have 18-hole golf course, golf club and golf resort of 150 rooms.

The feasibility report of the project is ready. Coastal Development Authority in association with KSIIDC will prepare an integrated report of the project. “We are trying to prepare a project report by June, so that the project will be ready for the Global Investors meet,” Bhat added.  He said KSIIDC – IL&FS Project Development Company Limited (KIPDC) has undertaken 23 projects. This proposal was going on for some time but nothing is happening. The state & central ministers and other influential dignitaries from this region should force it to be included in the forth coming state & central budget.
