Bangalore: Combined Entrance Test on April 28, 29

Bangalore, Mar 9: State minister for higher education, Aravind Limbavali, announced here on Monday March 8 that the combined entrance test (CET) for entry into medical, dental, Indian system of medicine, homoeopathy and engineering courses, will be conducted on April 28 and 29.

Addressing a press conference here, he informed that the first test between 10.30 am and 11.50 am on Wednesday April 28 will be conducted on the subject of biology. On the same day, maths test will be conducted from 2.30 pm to 3.50 pm. On April 29, physics test will be conducted from 10.30 am to 11.50 pm, followed by chemistry test between 2.30 pm and 3.50 pm. For all these subjects, 60 marks are allotted, and the candidates, to be eligible to appear for the CET, should submit duly filled in applications before March 17, he explained.

The CET will be conducted in 30 district headquarters and 13 selected taluk headquarters, under the supervision of the deputy commissioners of the districts. The candidates can appear for the CET in the district headquarters of the places in which they have appeared for the second PU examination, he said.

This year, online seat selection process will be conducted in Bangalore, Hubli, Gulbarga, Mangalore and Shimoga. The poor students with a family annual income of less than two lac rupees per annum and who secure ranks up to 20,000 will be allowed to select centres of their choice in engineering course, by paying a fee of Rs 15,000. Those students from outside the state, who have completed their education from first to tenth standard in Kannada will be eligible to appear for the CET from the current year. They need not appear for Kannada language examination separately, Limbavali said.
