Kaup: Temple priest loses life in accident

Kaup, Aug 24: After a car and a two-wheeler got involved in an accident on national highway 66 at Uchila near here on Sunday, August 23, the assistant priest of a temple lost his life.

The deceased has been identified as Krishna Bhat (83), assistant priest of Uchila Lord Mahalingeshwara temple. The accident happened when a car moving from the direction of Mangaluru towards Udupi hit a two-wheeler. Krishna Bhat, who suffered serious injuries in the accident, was admitted into a private hospital at Udupi. But he did not respond to treatment and died on Sunday evening, reports stated.

Bhat is survived by wife, two sons, and scores of relatives and well-wishers. A case about the accident was filed in Padubidri police station.
