Chamarajanagar, Aug 26: 'Kolumande Jangama' is a traditional, devotional song which hails Lord Mahadeshwara. Rapper Chandan Shetty, who had given rap touch to the above devotional song, has tendered an apology to the people of Chamarajanagar district. In addition, he also has deleted the song that was uploaded in YouTube.

Male Mahadeshwara temple is located in Chamarajanagar district.

In a WhatsApp group, 'Male Mahadeshwara', people had accused Chandan of twisting the folklore nature of the devotional song and shooting the same in an improper manner. Social websites too have agreed with this observation. It was said that the role of Sharane Sankamma referred the song was shown with inappropriate clothing. Shetty was also accused of meddling with the story and insulting the song that was handed down over generations.

Taking note of the criticism and feelings of the people as expressed in the social media, Shetty has sought an apology from the people.
