Kasargod: High court orders state government to open borders

Daijiworld Media Network - Kasargod (SP)

Kasargod, Aug 27: In a significant development, the state high court on Wednesday August 26, instructed the state government to clear the sealing of four important highways leading out of the state. This interim order was passed by the state high court during the hearing of a writ petition filed by advocate and district BJP president K Srikanth.

The high court has ordered opening of borders as Jalsoor, Panathur, Manimoole and Perla borders.

The union government had issued an order three days ago, asking the states to open inter-state roads passing through state borders. But the Kerala government had not cleared its borders. With the above offer, vehicular movement between Kerala and Karnataka has opened up, easing the tension among those who are required to commute between Mangaluru and Kasargod on a regular basis.
