Mangaluru: Suspended services in temples - Resumption likely from September 1

Mangaluru, Aug 29: In the light of the problems encountered in sticking to social distancing norms, the government had suspended puja and other services in the temples because of the fear of coronavirus infection getting spread. The department of religious endowments is considering a proposal to begin these services from September 1 onward.

Muzrai minister, Kota Srinivas Poojary, said that the department is considering a proposal to resume puja and other services on behalf of the devotees from September 1. He said that a final decision will be taken after discussing the pros and cons of such a step with the health department.
