Beltangady, Aug 29: The body of a young man who had gone missing was found floating in a pond at Nagaje in Navoor village in the taluk on Friday August 28.

Rakshit (28) had left home for work but had gone missing thereafter. He was from Nagaje in Navoor village. He was working for a private firm at Chikkamagaluru. He was promoted recently. He thereafter had left on August 19 to assume charge as the manager of a scheme of agricultural machinery at Bagur, Channarayaplatna in Hassan district. He had reported to work at the new place of posting.

Rakshit had returned to his room after work on August 26 and thereafter could not be contacted on a cellphone. His roommate told the family members that Rakshit was not to be seen. On August 27, his two-wheeler was found abandoned in a forest area at Merla near his home. A search for him in the nearby areas had proved futile.
