Kasargod: Muslim League to take action against Manjeshwar MLA M C Kamaruddin

Kasargod, Sep 10: Muslim League has decided to take disciplinary action against Manjeshwar  MLA M C Kamaruddin who has been accused of cheating depositors.

He has been removed from the post of UDF district president. Party leaders have asked him to stay away from all the posts except that of MLA. Party has asked him to return the deposits of customers within the next six months. The party has also directed all the other leaders who are facing the charges to stay away from their posts.

The party has directed him to furnish details of the depositors and properties by September 30.

Party district treasurer has been asked to mediate in this connection. The party-state committee took the decision after customers lodged complaints of cheating in deposits for fashion jewellery and undertook protests against the MLA.

As per the complaints, the fraud committed is to the tune of Rs 132 crore that was received as deposits from nearly 800 customers. Fashion Gold International company of which M C Kamaruddin is the president has closed down. So the case has reached the police station and the depositors have decided for a legal battle.
