Bengaluru, Sep 11: Central Crime Branch (CCB) police escorted actresses Ragini and Sanjana along with experts of the forensic science laboratory to K C General Hospital where their urine, blood, hair and nail samples were collected.

The police custody of both the actresses is set to end today morning. By afternoon, all the arrested accused will be produced in the court. After arresting Ragini eight days back, her blood sample was collected and sent for testing the same day. But the report did not support the police theory of drug abuse. Therefore they have now collected other samples as drug traces will remain in hair, nails etc for about 90 days, unlike urine and blood. That is why fresh samples were collected, sources explained.

Sanjana livid: Sanjana reportedly raised a ruckus over the tests, questioning as to why she was not informed in advance about the proposed tests. She accused the police of leading her to the hospital by lying to her. She refused to undergo hair follicle test but after the court order and permission copies were shown, she relented, sources stated.

The city police have been producing in the court and sending to judicial custody about 100 to 150 people on an average, who are accused of peddling or consuming ganja every month. Most of them are sent to judicial custody without any tests as per practice. Police sources said that for the first time in the last many years, two accused were subjected to blood, urine, hair follicle and nail tests for Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act cases.
