Beltangady: One held for illegal cattle trafficking, other assets seized

Beltangady, Sep 11: During the period they were on night patrol police sub-inspector here, Nandakumar accompanied by other personnel, took into custody a pick-up truck, cattle, and an accused. The arrested accused has been identified as Ibrahim alias Marshad (26). The arrest was made during the early hours on Thursday, September 10.

Three other accused, Irfan, Rizwan and Rauf succeeded in running away during the operation.

The police who sighted the pick-up truck that was found moving towards Uppinangady grew suspicious. They chased the vehicle and intercepted it. They found that cattle were violently stuffed into the luggage area of the vehicle. Assets worth Rs 4,24,000 including the cattle and pick-up truck, were seized. A case was registered in the town police station here.
