Udupi: Two arrested, car, mobile phones confiscated for selling ganja

Udupi, Sep 11: Manipal police arrested two people on the accusation of selling ganja near Shimbra Baba Point cross on September 10.

The arrested accused are identified as Abdul Razak Buddebihar, son of Abdul Salam resident of Nagarkar Colony, second cross, Dharwad district and Farooq Sheikh, son of Abdul Salam resident of Nagarkar Colony, second cross, Dharwad district.

It is alleged that the accused were selling ganja in a car bearing registration number KA 25 MH 5508. Police acted on definite information and arrested the duo from the spot and confiscated two-kilo ganja estimated to cost around Rs 60,000 in the market, a car estimated to cost Rs 1 lac and two mobile phones worth Rs 2,000.

A case in this connection has been registered in Manipal police station.
