Bantwal, Sep 12: Thinker Shivasunder said that certain acts which the union and state governments have taken out after the announcement of the lockdown will cause great distress to the citizens of the whole country.

Shivasunder was speaking at the district level seminar on land reform act, APMC act, amendment to essential goods and labour law, privatization of electricity and 10% reservation for upper castes that were held at the Rangoli auditorium in the town.

Shivasunder further said, "The policies of the ruling governments are detrimental to the lives of the poorer sections of society. Our tax money is being used to fill the coffers of the rich and affluent people."

Shivasunder vehemently criticized the policies of PM Modi and said that the ruling governments are not taking into account the interests of the general public.

Secretary of Karnataka state farmers' association, Ravi Poonacha did the introductory speech and explained the motto of the seminar. Shivasunder spoke on subjects of the essential goods act, an amendment to seed act, privatization of electricity and 10% reservation for upper castes. State president of Hasiru Sene and Karnataka state farmers' association Badagalapura Nagendra spoke on the amendment to the land reform act. Vice president of the Karnataka province farmers' association Maruti Manpade spoke on the APMC act and amendment to the labour act.

The programme was presided over by Oswald Prakash Fernandes, district president of the Karnataka Farmers' Association and Hasiru Sene. Former minister Ramanath Rai arrived at the function and expressed his support.

Karnataka state farmers' association and Hasiru Sene, Karnataka province farmers' association, DSS (Ambedkar), DSS (founded by Prof Krishnappa), DSS, CITU, Karavali Janabivruddi Vedike, Agriculture land protection committee, Manava Bandhutva Vedike and DYFI extended their cooperation for the programme.
