Tumkur, Sep 13: Police have arrested a man who killed his friend on his birthday from Kotitopu of the city.

Anukumar is the deceased youth. Raja and Pratap are arrested in this connection. On the night of Thursday, Anukumar's birthday party celebration was arranged. All the friends were celebrating the occasion. In the meantime, Raja had come to wish Anukumar, killed him and escaped from the spot.

Last year, during the Maramma fair accused Raja and deceased Anukumar had fought and became bitter enemies. However, Raja had come with his friend Pratap on Thursday on the pretext of wishing deceased Anukumar.

When all were high on liquor in the birthday party, Anukumar picked up fight with Raja. When the verbal duel got intense, Raja and Pratap stabbed Anukumar on the chest and escaped from the spot.

A case was registered in this connection in the city police station. Now the police have arrested both the accused.
