Udupi: Day train between Bengaluru-Karwar begins operation

Udupi, Sep 15: With the constant efforts of Udupi Railway Yatri Sangha, the Bengaluru-Karwar day train has started operations from September 4 onward. The Sangha has requested the commuters to make the best use of this facility.

President of the Sangha R L Dias said that the train had been cancelled due to corona-related concerns. On August 29 a memorandum was presented on behalf of the Sangha to the minister of state for railways Suresh Angadi seeking to resume this train service, he stated.

The train now runs three days a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. On these days the train leaves Yeswanthpur at 7.10 am and reaches Karwar at 11.10 pm. It leaves Karwar at 5.30 am on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and reaches Yeswanthpur at 8.30 pm, he said.
