Bagalkot: 'Even thieves might get themselves photographed with me' - Siddaramaiah

Bagalkot, Sep 15: Former chief minister and leader of the opposition in the state assembly Siddaramaiah claimed that he is not aware of a person named Sheikh Faisal whose name has been linked to the drugs scandal. He was speaking at Govanakoppa village in the district on Monday, September 14.

"I do not know who Faisal is. Various people pose with us and get their photographs taken. Even thieves may approach us and get their photographs clicked. It is not important with whom the photo is taken, but the fact that the person is associated with drugs is important. If the police have any evidence, let them take steps. BJP leaders are now trying to play politics with the help of this photo. There are allegations that MLA, Zameer Ahmed, is involved with a drug racket. People might say so many things, but where is the proof? Ragini had campaigned for the BJP. In fact, she even canvassed with Vijayendra. Can one say on this basis that Vijayendra is involved with the drug scandal?" he questioned.

Speaking at Hubballi later, he pointed out that Congress legislator Zameer Ahmed has already offered to be hanged if there is proof about his involvement with drugs. "He has said that his property can be impounded if he is at fault. Passing allegations just to finish him politically is not right," he opined.
