Mangaluru: Two arrested for theft of cash, ornaments from flat

Mangaluru, Sep 18: Vidya Prabhu, resident of Jardine Apartments Complex in Suratkal town, had complained that Rs 50 lac in cash and 200 grams of gold ornaments had been stolen from her flat on the night of August 17.

The personnel of Suratkal station, who took up investigation, have succeeded in arresting Amesh (22) from Thiruvananthapuram Kerala and Raghu (47). They were taken into custody from near Talapady.

Both were produced in the court. Upholding the request of the police seeking their custody to help investigate, the court has ordered for their police custody.

This happens to be one of the high-value thefts to have happened in Suratkal area in the recent past. Top officials of the department have visited the spot and guided the investigation.
