Mangaluru: Customs Commissionerate observes 'Swachhta Pakhwada' campaign

Mangaluru, Sep 18: Various activities such as drawing competitions for the children of the staff and essay competition for the staff, cleaning of office premises, sanitization of the office building and staff quarters, tree plantation at Customs staff quarters, Bikarnakatta, distribution of face mask to labourers of the Central Warehouse Corporation and to employees of KSRTC, Mangaluru, scanning of files, cleaning at Government Women's College, Balmatta in the city were carried out.

Also, a swachhta awareness webinar was conducted by Dr Suchitra Shenoy, nodal officer for COVID Infection Control, KMC Hospitals, for the welfare of the officers and their families and Swachhta pledge committed towards cleanliness was taken by the Customs staff.

The programme ended on September 15. Imamuddin Ahmad, commissioner of customs addressing the staff over the webinar stressed the importance of cleanliness in ensuring a better quality of life and also Swachhta as a catalyst for economic development.
