Udupi: Aided High School Teachers’ Association Stages Symbolic Protest

Udupi, Apr 15: The members of district Aided High School Teachers’ Association staged a symbolic protest at six SSLC evaluation centres here on Thursday April 15, ahead of attending to duties on evaluation of answer papers on Friday April 16, urging the state education department, in order to fulfill their various demands that are not addressed despite their follow-ups.
 
The protestors urged to fulfill their key demands, such as to discontinue disparity of pay scale, hike evaluation fees for invigilators, revision of the pay scale of all the teachers in service since 1994 and withdraw inter-district transfer of teachers among others.

 
The centres to evaluate of SSLC answer papers are set up at six centres in the district among which two centers at St Cecily High School, a centre each at St Mary’s High School, Olakadu Government High School, Adi Udupi Government High School, and Christian High School.
 
Around 900 teachers from across the district participated in the symbolic protest, led by association president Bhaskar Shetty and treasurer N N Poojary.
