UPCL is donating to temples, churches, and mosques as CSR and everyone is taking money and happy.

Even environmentalists cannot do anything as they know the company owning UPCL is more powerful than the state government.

They are planning for expansion which is presented stopped by the Supreme court. But that will be also be temporary

Doing social service does not change the reality of its polluting plant. Today, most of the power is being produced by solar power which is what Modi is pushing for to lessen pollution.

This power plant was granted in haste considering the eco sensitivity of Western Ghats & there was huge corruption involved in getting this project sanctioned.

Let Adani group convert this into either solar or some other forms to lessen pollution & damage to environment.

I am native of Ulloor and I have seen the ecological damage this thermal power plant has caused to my native. There is thick carbon on plantain leaves in early morning dew, premature falling of coconuts from trees, areca nuts etc
Also, many people have reported well water being unfit for safe use.

The compensation has not reached any farmers so far.
