Mangalore, Jul 5: In support to the nationwide Bharat Bandh call against fuel price hike, the BJP members of the Dakshina Kannada district staged a protest at the railway station entrance here in the city on Monday July 5. The members shouted slogans against Congress government for showing apathy towards the poor and middle class.

Speaking to presspersons, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that all the opposition parties have come in support of the bandh. People to willfully participated in the bandh showing solidarity closing down shops and stopping the services of autorickshaws and taxi services.

Kateel said that when people are already suffering from rising cost in the present day, the price hike of the essentials such as petrol and liquid petroleum gas have added to the pains of the people. Instead of helping the people by reducing the prices of commodities, the UPA government has been increasing the price. However, the price rise will not affect the richer class in the least and the centre has failed to noticed this, he added.

Deputy mayor Rajendra, Raj Gopal Rai, president of BJP Mangalore south constituency, Shrikar Prabhu, BJP district vice-president Nithin Kumar, Bajrang Dal convenor and Rajgopal Rai among others were present.
