Puttur: Entrpreneur, Politician, K Rama Nayak No More

Puttur, Jul 7: K Rama Nayak (69), veteran businessman, political, social and religious leader from Uppinangady in the taluk, breathed his last on Tuesday July 6 night due to cardiac arrest.

Rama Nayak was the eldest son of freedom fighter and All India National Congress executive committee member, Venugopal Nayak. Nayak, who had his shop on Bank Road in Uppinangady, walked in the footsteps of his father and functioned as the president of Uppinangady Mandal Panchayat and gram panchayat.

He was a member of the trust governing Uppinangady Sri Lakshmi Venkaramana temple, and had played an important role in the setting up of PU and degree colleges in the town. He was known to be a generous donor.

He is survived by wife, a son and two daughters. Several dignitaries have mourned the death of Rama Nayak.
